The route behind every case we deliver
Who we are
Amin Trading Agency LLC is an importer and wholesale distributor of South Asian food products, based on Park Avenue in Edison, New Jersey. We bring in containers from producers in India and Sri Lanka and supply grocers, independent retailers and foodservice operators across the region.
Edison is not an accidental address. Middlesex County holds one of the largest South Asian communities in the United States, and the grocery trade here is dense, competitive and demanding. Customers know what a proper papad should look like and notice immediately when a brand changes.
The work itself is logistics and continuity. A grocer's problem is rarely finding a product once — it is getting the same product, at the same spec, next month and the month after. That is what an importer is actually for, and it is decided months before an order is placed.
Anyone can land one container. The trade is in landing the same thing again, on time, twelve months running.

The range
Dry goods and shelf-stable groceries, in the categories that move steadily rather than seasonally.
Lentil and rice papads in the usual sizes, and khakhra in plain and masala varieties. Steady sellers that a grocer reorders without thinking.
Mango pickle, mixed pickle, tamarind and cooking pastes in jars and bulk packs, from established Gujarati producers.
Ready mixes, doughs and flour blends for bakers and home cooks — the category that grows fastest as a store's customer base broadens.
Roasted nuts and seeds, savoury snack mixes and soya products in retail packs and catering sizes.
Edible cooking oils, salt and the dry pantry lines that anchor a South Asian grocery aisle and rarely sit still.
Coffee and drink preparations alongside the grocery lines, for stores serving both retail shoppers and small caterers.
For wholesale buyers
Buyers who have run an import line before will know all of this. Buyers who are adding one for the first time frequently discover it the hard way, usually two weeks after the container has already sailed.
Production, consolidation, several weeks of transit and then customs entry at Newark. A reorder placed when the shelf looks thin arrives well after it is empty. Plan against the sailing calendar rather than against stock levels.
We supply by the case, and case configuration varies by producer and product. Confirm units per case, case dimensions and pallet quantity before ordering — it determines your shelf allocation and your storage as much as the price does.
Not at delivery. Weeks of transit are already spent by the time a case reaches you, and that matters most on shorter-dated lines. Ask for production dates and rotate stock accordingly; check dating on receipt rather than at the till.
Ingredient statements, allergen declarations and nutrition panels differ between origin and destination markets. Whatever you stock, satisfy yourself that the labelling on the pack meets the requirements applying to your business before it goes on sale.
